B. Yuvaraj, 28, is an Independent candidate contesting from Coimbatore (South) constituency in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. He is a graduate professional working as a lawyer, with declared assets of Rs. 48.15 lakh and liabilities of Rs. 36.50 lakh. However, the candidate appears to be connected to serious criminal controversies that are not reflected in his affidavit. According to media reports, Yuvaraj is the prime accused in the 2013 murder of Gokulraj, a Dalit engineering student from Namakkal district. The case became a flashpoint for caste tensions in Tamil Nadu, with allegations that Gokulraj was murdered because he was seen talking to a girl from the Gounder community. He was also acquitted along with two others in a 2013 abduction and ransom case. Yuvaraj is identified as the founder of Theeran Chinnamalai Gounder Peravai, a caste-based organization.
