Sudhakar, 39, is a construction businessman and politician from Ulundurpettai, Tamil Nadu, who contested the 2026 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections representing the newly formed Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party. He owns MSR Construction, a construction company, and has declared assets worth approximately Rs. 5.52 crores with liabilities of Rs. 2.09 crores. His entry into politics coincides with actor Vijay's foray into electoral politics through TVK, which was founded on February 2, 2024, and aimed to contest all 234 seats in the 2026 Assembly elections. As a first-time electoral candidate, Sudhakar faced established opponents from major Dravidian parties in the Ulundurpet constituency, including R. Kumaraguru from AIADMK and G. R. Vasanthavelu from DMK. The Ulundurpet constituency, historically a competitive seat, witnessed a multi-cornered contest in 2026. Sudhakar's campaign was part of TVK's broader electoral debut, which emphasized welfare promises including direct financial assistance for homemakers, interest-free loans for women, unemployment aid for graduates, and AI-driven governance initiatives. However, Sudhakar's electoral debut was overshadowed by the tragic Karur stampede on September 27, 2025, where 41 people died during a TVK rally. Tamil Nadu Police filed FIRs against TVK leadership, including general secretary N. Anand, accusing them of ignoring safety protocols. This incident, along with other legal issues facing party founder Vijay, cast a shadow over TVK's maiden electoral campaign. Sudhakar has no declared criminal cases in his affidavit.
