Alagaapuram R. Mohanraj, 72, is a veteran politician from the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) party, serving as its Propaganda Secretary. He achieved his political peak when he won the Salem North constituency in the 2011 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections and subsequently served as Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from 2014 to 2016.
