He is contesting from the Perambalur (SC) reserved constituency in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, representing a party founded by actor Vijay in February 2024. With declared assets of just Rs. 1.96 lakhs and liabilities of Rs. 90,000, Sivakumar has minimal financial holdings on paper. Perambalur has traditionally been a DMK stronghold, with M. Prabhakaran (DMK) winning in 2021 with 51.27% votes and a margin of over 31,000 votes against AIADMK.
