Oormila, a 42-year-old candidate with 12th standard education, is contesting from Kolathur constituency on a Tamizhaga Vaazhvurimai Katchi (TVK) ticket in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. She declares her profession as 'Sengalam Youtube Channel' with total assets of approximately 2.37 crores (1.46 crore movable and 90.76 lakh immovable) against liabilities of about 1 crore. Despite claiming to be a YouTube content creator, extensive web searches reveal no digital footprint, social media presence, or public profile for either Oormila or her claimed YouTube channel. Oormila is challenging one of Tamil Nadu's most high-profile constituencies, currently represented by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin of the DMK, who won the seat in both 2016 and 2021 with commanding vote shares of 54.25% and 60.86% respectively. Kolathur, located in Chennai district with approximately 207,251 electors, has seen significant infrastructure development under Stalin's representation, including upgraded government hospitals, modern libraries, community halls, and an ornamental fish trade center, though residents continue to face challenges with traffic congestion and stormwater drainage.
