Gingee K. S. Masthan, 70, is a veteran DMK politician who has represented the Gingee constituency in Villupuram district since 2016. Born on May 31, 1955, Masthan joined the DMK in 1976 and worked his way up from grassroots positions. Despite having only an 8th-standard education, he demonstrated strong administrative skills, serving as President of the Gingee Town Panchayat for five consecutive terms from 1986 to 2016—a remarkable 30-year tenure at the local governance level.
