T. Murugesan

T. Murugesan is a 45-year-old Independent candidate contesting from the Gandarvakottai (SC) constituency in Tamil Nadu. A 10th pass by education, he declares his profession as a private driver with total assets of Rs. 9.77 lakhs (Rs. 8.77 lakhs movable and Rs. 1 lakh immovable) and no liabilities or criminal cases. However, his electoral history reveals a persistent but unsuccessful political career spanning over a decade. Murugesan first contested the 2011 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections from Gandarvakottai as an Independent, securing a mere 1,073 votes (0.88% vote share), finishing far behind the AIADMK winner who received 54.85% votes. After more than a decade, he re-emerged in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, simultaneously contesting from two constituencies: Nilgiris (SC) and Dindigul.
