Saranya Imran, 35, is an IT professional working at DXC Technology in Guindy, Chennai, and is making her electoral debut as the Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) candidate from the Egmore (SC) constituency in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections. A mother of two children, Saranya was born and raised in Egmore, which she emphasizes as a unique qualification among the four first-time candidates contesting the seat. With assets of approximately Rs. 18.67 lakhs and no immovable property, her financial profile aligns with that of a mid-career IT professional with liabilities of Rs. 2.04 lakhs. Saranya represents the NTK, a Tamil nationalist party founded in 1958 and led by actor-turned-politician Seeman, which emerged as the third-largest party in Tamil Nadu after securing 6.72% vote share in the 2021 Assembly elections. The party advocates for Tamil identity, autonomy, and the establishment of an independent Tamil Eelam in Sri Lanka.
