He joined AIADMK nearly 18 years ago and has remained loyal to the party through various internal crises and leadership realignments. According to web sources, he is described as a young law graduate and local entrepreneur, though his election affidavit lists his profession as 'Clothing Manufacturing Company, Trading Business' - a discrepancy that raises questions about his professional background. This is Abishek's first major electoral contest at the state level. He previously contested the 2022 local body elections for a Chennai ward councillor post but lost.
