S.Gokula Indira

S. Gokula Indira, 59, is a seasoned AIADMK politician from Anna Nagar who has experienced both ministerial heights and electoral setbacks. Born in Ramanathapuram in 1966, she served as a Rajya Sabha MP (2001-2006) before winning the Anna Nagar Assembly seat in 2011. Under Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, she held key ministerial portfolios - Tourism (2011-2013) and Handlooms & Textiles (2014-2016) - though her tenure was interrupted by a controversial dismissal in 2013 for alleged underperformance, before being reinstated a year later.
